Let’s Get Pretty Social

The next Pretty Local Industry Night breaks down social media for beauty, wellness, and fashion pros.

Did you know that Pretty Local has an event series for professionals in the beauty, wellness, and fashion industries? Leveraging her 20+ years of experience working in the national beauty industry as a beauty editor and writer, Pretty Local founder Krista Bennett DeMaio brings leading industry experts to speak to Long Island pros looking to further their careers. These exclusive events are held at the Long Island Nail Skin & Hair Institute in Bethpage (founder Dana Perisco is a Pretty Local Pro Advisory Board Member).

Previous topics have included “Meet the Press,” covering the ins and outs of media and public relations with News 12’s Elizabeth Hashagen, beauty publicists Jenn Keel Pizzariella and Danielle Zacharia (also Advisory Board Members), and beauty writer and on-air expert Cheryl Kramer Kaye; and “The Beauty of Business,” covering branding, media, launching a product line, and industry insights. This panel included Ron Robinson, cosmetic chemist and founder of BeautyStat; Allie Hogan, senior beauty editor of NewBeauty magazine; Samantha Anderson, vice president of press at Evolvemkd; and renowned dermatologist Kavita Mariwalla, MD (another Pretty Local advisor).

The next Industry Night will take place on Monday, February 10th. The topic: social media. Whether you’re looking to grow your local clientele, sell products, or become the next big influencer in your industry, you need to use—and master—social media. So we’re gathering a panel of experts who know a lot about the medium: makeup artist Erica Taylor (known for her social media makeup tutorials for women 40+), celebrity esthetician Ian Michael Crumm (an influencer and skin cancer prevention advocate), and publicist Jennifer Conlon Pavelchak, managing director of MP-IMC, who will talk about social media strategy from a brand standpoint, plus working with influencers.

Pretty Social is sponsored by Long Island Nail Skin & Hair Institute, Long Island Herald, and Isdin.

The evening includes light bites, wine, networking, our panel presentation moderated by Krista, Q&As from the audience, raffles, and, of course, the coveted swag bag. Space is limited (and previous events have sold out), so grab your ticket today.
